Description
-
Consists of a letter written by Vivien Beer to Captain James R. Allan. Item includes envelope. Transcription is as follows: [Trebeer?] September 11th '16 My Own Darling Jim!- You will think that I never care to write to you on Sundays but think you won't mind this time when I tell you I was sick yesterday and had to go to bed but darling I was thinking about you all day and wishing what you had been here to read to me. II Wouldn't I have been happy to be able to watch you while you would be reading. As it was i was awfully lonesome and just felt as thought it [tried] me to have anyone to talk to me. Its all very well for people to say you want to have lots of friends etc, but oh darling it doesn't make me forget and it is your companionship I want no one elses. Pete is still here and Annie III and Grandpa came Saturday too. Seems everyone can come but you, of course I like to have them here but if you could only come for one little hour I would be so happy. Jim darling I can't forget you for one minute even. But this is not a very interesting letter is it? To-day is just a beautiful September day and the evenings are just grand. IV I hope there is a letter from you to-day saying you had gotten a letter from me 'cause I know you were lonely and I realize too what loneliness is. Dearie mine this is just a very short letter but it is late and I want to post it. However darling is [is] the sincerest of Vivien still loves her 'ittle Jimmie and is thinking of him now. Your own sweetheart Vivien
