EPA 430-R-12-006 This report provides information on historical and projected estimates of emissions of non-CO2 greenhouse gases from anthropogenic sources. It includes over 20 individual source categories from the energy, industrial processes, agriculture, and waste sectors. It covers 92 countries, historical information from 1990 to 2005 and business-as-usual projections from 2010 to 2030. This document is a revision of a draft document published to the EPA website in August 2011.
This report provides statistics for GHG emissions of petroleum and natural gas production, processing, transmission and distribution in 2014. These activities accounted 236 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e). This is an increase of 3.5% compared to 2013 GHG emissions from this sector.
The Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program, mandated by Congress, is unique in reporting facility-level data from industrial sources across the United States. It reports annually, but does NOT represent all GHG emissions from the U.S. economy.
This overview section summarizes national industrial sector emissions and trends for 2012. Data is collected from direct emitters and represents about half of all U.S. emissions. This overview describes how the GHGRP data relates to the Inventory of U.S. GHG Emissions and Sinks.
Highlights difficulties in measuring GHG emissions within and across sectors. Section 3 presents information on GHG inventory protocols that are publicly available and frequently used, and examines the attributes of a protocol that would be useful for companies in the construction sector.
