The interim report describes the main outcomes of the first Renewable Resources Cluster Group meeting held on October 25, 2001. This cluster group is one of six providing expert support for the NRTEEās Environment and Sustainable Development Indicators (ESDI) Initiative. The cluster group acts in an advisory capacity to the ESDI Steering Committee and is composed of experts from industry, government, academe, and NG0s.
This report documents the results of our the background findings requested for reference purposes for the NRTEE Air Quality & Atmospheric Resources project. It provides a reasonable basis for cluster group members to gain an understanding of the current state of development of atmospheric services sustainable development indicators
This report sets out for each of a series of marine and forest renewable resource sustainable development indicators: i) the methodology used, ii) the conceptual foundation and mathematical formulation, iii) the supporting rationale, iv) the availability of data for implementation, and 9 research priorities to improve, over time, these indicators.
This report is based on the cluster group discussions at the first and second workshops, our background research and our efforts to apply t he concepts and ideas presented at the workshops in a logical framework consistent with the overall natural capital approach.
