The objective of this report is to explore the perceptions of Canadian businesses to potential risks and opportunities from the physical impacts of climate change. To do this, the report utilizes data from the responses of Canadian businesses to an annual survey on business responses to climate change undertaken by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). CDP data is used here to analyze how Canadian businesses: perceive potential risks associated with the physical impacts of climate change; perceive potential opportunities associated with the physical impacts of climate change; and are planning to respond to, and manage, those risks and opportunities.
This report describes the main recommendations of the Water Resources Cluster Group (WRCG) of the NRTEE’s Environment and Sustainable Development Indicators (ESDI) Initiative. The Cluster Group acts in an advisory capacity to the ESDI Steering Committee and is composed of experts from industry, government, academe, and NGOs. The group is working to define specific indicators within the water resources mandate.
