The National Roundtable of the Environment and the Economy (NRTEE) has been asked by the Minister of the Environment to conduct an independent analysis of provincial and territorial climate change plans and policies to assess their likely contribution to achieving the Government of Canada’s 2020 emissions target of 17% percent below 2005 levels. Navius Research Inc. was contracted to conduct an analysis of existing and proposed provincial and territorial policies to reduce greenhouse gases (GHGs) by 2020. This document provides a summary of results from Task 1 (prioritizing provincial and territorial climate policies) and Task 2 (quantifying abatement from these policies) of this analysis.
